You can also have some seeds and nuts as a snack. Not only are they delicious but they are rich in protein amongst other things. And protein is known to aid you in feeling satiated for longer. The good thing about fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts is that they are nutrient dense foods. By this we mean they provide you with a pack load of nutritional benefits while they are very low on calories, so you do not have to worry about weight gain. Now that is a good trade in!
In fact, eating snacks in between your meals has been found to aid with managing and maintaining a healthy weight. This is because your stomach is somehow satisfied most of the day and you will not get to a point where you are starved. Starving yourself or skipping meals does not help much when you are trying to lose weight. Your body will go into “survival mode,” holding onto any bit of food that comes through. Not eating properly and skipping meals can also lead to you over eating at your next meal time and this will mean more calories for you! So go ahead and snack, snack healthy
